Info:  As architectural designers and furniture makers, we offer a unique combination of services by undertaking projects ranging from interior and architectural commissions through to the design and manufacture of contemporary eco furniture and fittings: commercial, healthcare and community projects; eco conversions, extensions and loft conversions; design for outdoor living; exhibition design; one-off commissions; eco furniture products and lighting.

Tandem was created in 2005 by Jonathan Wright, who has a background in architecture and an expertise in furniture design. It is our concept to offer a comprehensive spatial design service integrated with furniture design and manufacture. This gives us the ability to design complete environments and ensure a very high standard of finish at an affordable price, using ecologically sound materials.

Tangkoko

Info:  They only use sustainably sourced natural and recycled materials for their products, which are produced without the exploitation of workers and manufactured without hazardous materials. Their local impact is minimised via recycling and use of recycled products and by off-setting the carbon emissions generated from their UK deliveries.

The Fairtrade Furniture Company

Info:  Their key values are to create special furniture products which people will cherish. They aim to make fair trade a way of life and minimise their environmental footprint. They have deliberately called their company 'The Fair Trade Furniture Co Ltd', because fair trade is fundamental to their beliefs and values. But they are also committed to minimising their environmental footprint. Their designer furniture is most attractive and unusual, while offering top quality.

The Great Green Trading Company Ltd

Info:  We offer high quality children's furniture in novelty designs made from safe and environmentally friendly materials. Absolutely no MDF! We use recycled, recycleable strawboard and paints without volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or solvents.

The Recycle Warehouse

Info:  Is a retailer of domestic and office products, clothing and other goods, wholly or predominantly made from recycled materials. If it isn’t recycled it doesn’t get in! If you think that recycling is for hippies, think again. The Recycle Warehouse can furnish your entire home and office in style -- sustainably.

There are steps we can all take to minimise our carbon footprint. First of all, we should Reduce what we use. Secondly, when we've done with an object, we should Reuse it for something else. Even if we only use our old yoghurt pots for plant pots it's worth doing. Finally, Recycle. At The Recycle Warehouse we're not perfect. Our carbon footprint isn't zero -- but we're aiming low!

We have searched for the best suppliers to bring you quality products, made from recycled materials, that you can use with a clearer conscience. We have a variety of products that we keep in stock, and we're also affiliated with some really good suppliers who will supply you from their own warehouses and shops.

uneeka

Info:  Was first established in 2005, set up by two close friends Jodi Skelton and John Tornabene. Both with a passion for ethical retail and a desire to sell fairly traded products, the Uneeka concept was created to show consumers that fairly traded products can be accessible, affordable and desirable. Uneeka endeavours to base its operations on the core principle of fair trade and strong ethical foundations. Fair Trade is a trading partnership on a global scale, which ensures that a guaranteed price is paid for produce or goods from developing countries and encourages long-term relationships and trading commitments.

We pride ourselves on sourcing the most innovative and interesting products from recognised and affiliated fair trade organisations from all over the world. Accredited with BAFTS (British Association of Fairtrade Shops), we work to improve the livelihoods and well being of producers by improving market access, strengthening producer organisations and paying a better price for our products. We also actively work to raise awareness among our customers of the negative effects on producers of international trade so that they exercise their purchasing power positively.

Woodschool

Info:  Is a unique collective, which is maximising the potential of the human and natural resource of the Scottish Borders. Combining the talent of young furniture designers and makers with the greatly undervalued low grade or waste hardwood from the area, they have created a focus for a very hands-on approach to working with wood.
