Rapanui

Info:  Is a company that began life on the Isle of Wight when two young surfing brothers, one a business graduate and the other a renewable energy engineer, set about creating a 100% sustainable brand. For 2008, we provide a range of functional surfwear made from ethical and eco-friendly fabrics. We also use renewable energy to power our manufacture and pay a fair price for our materials in our 'total' approach to sustainability.

Our environmental ethos involves three areas of focus: response to climate change, natural, organic and ethical fabrics, and fair trade and manufacture.

reclaim fashion

Info:  I (Holly Berry) am a young fashion designer, specializing in using and promoting recycling in fashion design. With a degree in fashion design, I have dedicated myself to the use of recycled and reclaimed material. I graduated with a first in fashion from Kingston University, where I specialized in the use of recycled and reclaimed materials for two years. It struck me that not enough people are ethically aware in their design, and in the future I think it will become a necessity to do so. I have worked to design and produce, cutting edge, good quality garments that do not compromise aesthetics because of their recycled nature.

My aims and objectives for starting my recycling workshops are to help to form a group of future designers, consumers, workers, politicians and social citizens, who will develop change within the wasteful fashion industry; it is important to me to facilitate this movement within design to grow, education will play a large part in this.

red mutha

Info:  Yes, we can customise your clothing to your own specifications, just tell us what you want. We love to use old patches and bits of recycled T-shirts and stuff to create truly one-off personalised creations. So dig out your old scout patches or your threadbare unwearable old favourite T-shirt and we can use them to collage together a fantastic garment. You can either send us the item to be customised, or we can find what you require. Suit jackets, track suits, army jackets and caps are my personal favourites, but we can customise anything we can get a needle through! Prices will range from £30 upwards, depending on the work required. If you've got any ideas or questions about our unique customising service, then just give me a call or drop us an email.
