American
Apparel - United Kingdom |
|
|
Info: Is a vertically integrated manufacturer,
distributor and retailer, based in downtown Los Angeles,
California. We currently employ approximately 10,000
people globally (about 5,000 in LA), and operate more
than 260 retail stores in 19 countries.
Within our business model, knitting, dyeing, cutting,
sewing, photography, marketing, distribution, and design
all happen in the company's facilities in Los Angeles.
The company operates the largest garment factory in the
United States, at a time when most apparel production
has moved offshore. With our recently opened stores in
China, we are now selling Made in USA clothing in the
largest consumer market in the world.
American Apparel leverages art, design and technology to
advance the business process, while continuing to
pioneer industry standards of social and environmental
responsibility in the workplace. We try to do everything
possible to minimize our ecological footprint. By
creating organic products, our business minimizes its
impact on the environment, while maintaining the same
comfort and style American Apparel is known for. Our
Organic Collection is a selection of our most popular
styles made from 100% USDA Certified Organic and
pesticide-free cotton. |

Ascension - the
new Adili |
|
|
Info: We thought, "if only there was a
department store where every collection on offer had the
highest possible eco credentials. Where fairly made,
organic and recycled products sat side by side,
beautifully crafted and desirably chic".
So, we set out to create
just this and have filled it with over 80 of the best
sustainable and fair brands from around the world.
Adili's philosophy is both idealistic and simple: to
bring you lovely, lifestyle things made beautifully,
made fairly, and wherever possible, made from organic
materials. We're working towards eco-perfection all the
time – sometimes we reach it, sometimes we know there's
a way to go. But we do everything in our power to get it
right, closely monitoring supply chains, supporting
suppliers, measuring and validating ethical credentials. |

Bindi Bazar |
|
|
Info: Sells wonderful fair trade bags, which are made by the urban poor in India. The people in India who make these ethnic bags use the plastics others throw away. It's a wonderful
idea: it supports recycling in India, provides extra income for the poor people who already collect the plastics and well, as you can see, these ethical bags look very good.
We are
delighted to bring these fair trade eco bags, jute bags, handbags, totes, jewellery and accessories to the UK. |
