Smartbags

Info:  Are a wholesale manufacturer and supplier of high-quality, eco-friendly promotional bags. Their bags are 100% reusable and 100% recyclable. Smartbags are specifically made from non-woven polypropylene (NWPP), which is a hard-wearing, non-toxic and recyclable material. This makes their tote bags a perfect – and environmentally safe – alternative to plastic shopping bags.

The One Bag

Info:  Is a unique blend of technology, loyalty and social responsibility.

Each One Bag comes with its own uniquely numbered barcode label attached. After purchasing, customers should register their One Bag at www.theonebag.com. Each time they present their bag at participating retailers, the One Bag owner will earn points. By presenting the barcode to the point of sale scanner, the system awards points, based on an agreed points-per-pound rate, to the registered account holder. Each point earned is worth 1p. These points can be redeemed either as a donation to the bag owner’s favourite charity or used to purchase further goods.

The One Bag™ is an elegant solution for a greener lifestyle where consumers can "make a difference" by donating to charities of their choice in addition The One Bag Ltd will also donate a substantial contribution of profits via its charitable trust.

Tiny Box Company

Info:  It only offers recycled packaging. They are therefore the sole UK supplier of only recycled packaging! They offer a huge range of recycled jewellery boxes, recycled gift boxes, recycled presentation boxes, recycled gift bags, recycled carrier bags and other recycled gift packaging for all your packaging needs. The added benefit is that (if you haven't already noticed) all their boxes, bags and other stuff are made from recycled paper.

Turtle Bags

Info:  Many of our plastic bags travel along rivers and streams and end up out at sea. Leatherback Turtles coming to UK waters for jelly fish are increasingly mistaking our plastic bags for jellyfish. Plastic bags are becoming a major marine problem for the same reason that they have been a commercial success -- they don’t break down. Every year, an estimated 17˝ billion plastic bags are given away by supermarkets. This is equivalent to over 290 bags for every person in the UK. We produce and use 20 times more plastic today than we did 50 years ago.

Plastic Bags are a hazard. Turtle Bags are a gentler alternative.

uneeka

Info:  Was first established in 2005, set up by two close friends Jodi Skelton and John Tornabene. Both with a passion for ethical retail and a desire to sell fairly traded products, the Uneeka concept was created to show consumers that fairly traded products can be accessible, affordable and desirable. Uneeka endeavours to base its operations on the core principle of fair trade and strong ethical foundations. Fair Trade is a trading partnership on a global scale, which ensures that a guaranteed price is paid for produce or goods from developing countries and encourages long-term relationships and trading commitments.

We pride ourselves on sourcing the most innovative and interesting products from recognised and affiliated fair trade organisations from all over the world. Accredited with BAFTS (British Association of Fairtrade Shops), we work to improve the livelihoods and well being of producers by improving market access, strengthening producer organisations and paying a better price for our products. We also actively work to raise awareness among our customers of the negative effects on producers of international trade so that they exercise their purchasing power positively.

Vandanamu Fair Trade

Info:  Based in the UK, it has the following aims: to alleviate poverty in marginalised communities in the Pondicherry area, by helping their people to develop sustainable livelihoods -- this involves provision of training, facilities to enable people to apply and develop their skills, and crucially, the establishment of indigenous and export markets for them to supply; to inform consumers in more affluent societies about the realities of life of financially under-privileged people in South India and to provide the opportunities that so many of us desire, to participate in the alleviation of their hardship, to appreciate their craftsmanship and share in the joys of working together for the common good; to promote fair trade generally, and demonstrate that it is possible to run commercially viable small businesses on fair trade principles.

The bags, made of a good-quality unbleached cotton in its natural colour, can be printed on one or both sides, with your own designs. The wooden products are made by the Thambidhurai family. All their handicrafts are made of Acacia Mangium, a cultivated relatively fast-growing broad-leaved tree with close-grained wood, common in Monsoon Asia. The "dots" in the spoons are made of rose wood, and the spoons have been rubbed with olive oil. No petroleum products or other toxic substances have been used. These are sustainable, fair trade products.
