Info: SMARTWaste Plan is a free tool that has
been developed by BRE to help the industry prepare,
implement and review SWMPs in full compliance with the
legal requirements. It can also be used to meet the Code
for Sustainable Homes mandatory requirement for waste.
SMARTWaste Plan takes you
through a step by step approach for your SWMP making it
easy and user friendly. It also includes an optional
integrated waste measurement tool (an updated and
improved version of SMARTStart) to help you measure
waste on your projects. |

information on the various alternatives available to
householders to minimise the amount of waste that is
sent to landfill. It aims to provide you with useful
insights and practical advice on how you can reduce,

It lists a wide range of local and national outlets,
facilities and services to help you do this. |

The GRAB Trust |
|

Info: Is a not for profit organisation with a
charitable status. It was formed in 1993 to address
waste and recycling issues in Argyll and Bute. GRAB
undertakes a wide range of waste and recycling
activities. They work with schools, the general public,
local community recycling groups and businesses.
The average UK household creates 600kg of waste every
year. Waste is expensive to dispose of and there are
better options than just landfilling it. We all have a
part to play. |

Waste Aware Campus |

Info: The Scottish Waste Awareness Group
(SWAG) was set up in 2000 with the remit of changing
public attitudes and behaviour towards waste. One of
SWAG's key aims is to deliver the Waste Aware Scotland
campaign.* The programme aims to raise awareness of, and
change public attitudes and behaviour towards reduce,
reuse and recycle. To help specific sectors become more
waste aware, SWAG has developed a number of national
waste aware tools, including the Waste Aware Campus
website. The Waste Aware Campus website is funded by the
Scottish Government and has also been endorsed by the
Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges
(EAUC).
The Scottish Government
has also launched the It's Our Future campaign, which
aims to encourage more people, to think now about the
steps we can all take to live within our environmental
means. The Waste Aware Campus campaign is funded by the
Scottish Government, as part of their commitment to a
Greener Scotland. |

Waste Aware Grampian |

Info: Is a campaign run in partnership between
Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council and the
Moray Council. Its main aim is to reduce the amount of
waste that is currently sent to landfill, by encouraging
households to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as much of their
waste as possible. |
