The camels are in training at the moment, so that they can take people on the only camel treks in the UK across the Cornish heath land area of Goonhilly Downs. The camels are extremely friendly and have settled in well in their new home. Cornish Camels operates out of Rosuick Organic Farm on the Lizard Peninsula on the south coast of Cornwall. Once these beautiful and rare Bactrian camels have been trained, regular treks will operate out across the Cornish heath land.

Everyone is welcome to come to visit our camels free of charge. There is also an organic cafe, farm shop, gift shop with local crafts and children's toys among other things. The camel centre looks straight into the camel pen, so that the camels can be viewed and enjoyed rain or shine. The organic cafe serves freshly ground origin coffee, homemade cakes and light snack lunches along with a range of soft drinks and ice-creams.

Also on offer are tractor-trailer rides around the farm during peak season, a giant sand pit and children's play area, lots of animals to look at and walks around the farm. Groups, coaches and schools are welcome.

We adopt a policy of supporting small local producers for seasonal produce. One example of such support, is rare breed lamb called "Soay" from a local small-holding in Pensilva. We also source various vegetables, salad and seasonal soft summer fruits produced from several small holdings in the local area.

The Farm shop opened in April 2006 and we specialise in a small high quality range of produce which we supply to the public as well as local restaurants in the area. Eggs are laid by our own free range hens and our quail eggs can brighten up a summer salad. Seasonable vegetables, herbs and salad, if not grown in the farm's garden, are sourced from other local growers. Cakes, jams and preserves are made in Bridgette's farmhouse kitchen and ice cream is made in Zennor. High quality beef from our own cattle is sold in joints or freezer packs as well as pork and lamb from other local sources.
