Gog Magog Hills |
|
|
Info: The name 'Gog Magog Hills' is taken from
the hills upon which our farm lies. Some say that Gog
Magog was the name of a legendary giant whose lair was
in Wandlebury Ring, but the name is certainly not
specific to the locality.
There is doubt as to
whether there was one giant or two. What is
certain is that the name was not used before the
sixteenth century and possibly the name was due to
nothing more subtle than that the hills looked like
slumbering giants and that Gog and Magog were familiar
giant names.
Our range of fine foods continues to evolve and includes:
famous hand-linked sausages; meat and poultry (including
organic and free range); pies, ham, cheeses and delicatessen goods;
dairy ice-cream and delicious cakes; fresh eggs -- collect them from the hens. |
