Somerset
Building Preservation Trust |
|
|
Info: Works to save the architectural heritage
of Somerset for YOU and the nation as a whole. Historic
buildings that would otherwise be lost through
dilapidation and neglect are restored. They are then
converted into a variety of uses - a tithe barn into a
community hall, some 16th century almshouses into social
housing, an 18th century Congregational Chapel into an
area for the local community to enjoy exhibitions, and
much more. |

The British Land Reclamation Society |
|
|
Info: Is an interdisciplinary organisation -
and Registered Charity - concerned with the reclamation,
regeneration and restoration of land. This includes
contaminated, derelict and abandoned land from mineral
working and former urban and industrial uses.
As an organisation they
cover education, best practice and research over the
many subject areas involved in the science and
practicalities of land reclamation in England, Scotland
and Wales. This could be from ground work engineering
and geotechnics, to economic regeneration and
sustainable urban reclamation. It covers a wide range of
expertise and we encourage continuing development across
disciplines. |

The Environment Trust |
|

sustainable development by improving the social,
economic and physical environment for community benefit,
and this is reflected in the variety of their work. |

The Industrial Buildings Preservation Trust |
|
|
Info: Was founded in 1975. Like all Buildings
Preservation Trusts, it is a 'restorer of last resort' -
that is, it takes on buildings of historical
significance that have no future in the ordinary market
place. Unlike most BPTs, it is not regionally or locally
based but can deal with buildings anywhere in the
country, as long as they have an industrial connection.
That can cover anything from warehouses and wharves to
rural buildings such as granaries - since agriculture is
the industry of the countryside. IBPT is a registered
charity, no 270956. |
|
Trees for Cities |
|
|
Info: Is an independent charity working with
local communities on tree-planting and landscaping
projects. Their aim is to tackle global warming, create
social cohesion and beautify our cities through tree
planting, community education and training initiatives
in urban areas of greatest need. |
|
Tunnel Sensors |
|
|
Info: Was formed specifically to supply,
install and maintain tunnel atmosphere monitor systems
worldwide. We believe we are the only company in the
marketplace to design and manufacture their own
analysers specifically for pollution monitoring in the
road tunnel environment.
Our mission is to provide
systems that enable operators to run their tunnels at
financially efficient levels, whilst protecting tunnel
users from the irritating effects of vehicle pollution.
We offer a full range of sensors
for visibility, carbon monoxide (CO), nitric oxide (NO),
nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and air velocity / direction
monitoring -- with a variety of interface and
configuration options. |
