Natural England |
|
|
Info: Is here to conserve and enhance the
natural environment, for its intrinsic value, the
wellbeing and enjoyment of people and the economic
prosperity that it brings.
It is working towards the
delivery of four strategic outcomes, which together
deliver on our purpose to conserve, enhance and manage
the natural environment for the benefit of current and
future generations: a healthy natural environment;
people are inspired to value and conserve the natural
environment; sustainable use of the natural environment;
a secure environmental future - decisions which
collectively secure the future of the natural
environment. |

Naturewatch |
|
|
Info: Is a non-profit animal welfare
campaigning organisation. Their aims are to promote the
prevention of cruelty to animals and to conduct and
support the publication of information concerning
animals in furtherance of their welfare. They work
strictly within the democratic system and condemn all
illegal activity, and believe that an evolutionary
approach is better than a revolutionary one.
Their main campaigns are
on animal experiments (in particular those which cause
brain damage to primates), badger baiting, and live
transport across Europe. Their charitable wing, the
Naturewatch Foundation, is involved in pioneering work
in Eastern Europe, particularly in Lithuania and
Ukraine. They also promote World Animal Day. |

OneClimate |
|
|
Info: Is an initiative of OneWorld UK. They
are a not-for-profit organisation and their mission is
‘to leverage media innovatively for a fair and
sustainable world’. Clearly, they cannot have a fair and
sustainable world without tackling climate change.
We could go farther and
say that climate change is providing humankind with one
final and convincing opportunity: a wake-up call to
persuade us, as nothing ever has before, that we must
act together to bring about a fair and sustainable
world.
The OneWorld Network has
13 centres around the world, of which OneWorld UK is
one. It is governed by the trustees of the OneWorld
International Foundation, a registered charity
(no.1095287). |

Prevent Climate Change |
|
|
Info: Was formed to offer a unique reference
point on actions to slow down climate change. This site
reveals the practical steps you can take as an employer
or a consumer to help slow down the effect of climate
change. Our concern was that there was no single UK
resource for interesting features and practical advice
on this subject. Our features and articles are written
by professional journalists and experts -- who have a
particular interest, or a background in this area. |
