Natural England

Info:  Is here to conserve and enhance the natural environment, for its intrinsic value, the wellbeing and enjoyment of people and the economic prosperity that it brings.

It is working towards the delivery of four strategic outcomes, which together deliver on our purpose to conserve, enhance and manage the natural environment for the benefit of current and future generations: a healthy natural environment; people are inspired to value and conserve the natural environment; sustainable use of the natural environment; a secure environmental future - decisions which collectively secure the future of the natural environment.

Nature's World

Info:  They aim to provide you with more than just a visit to the UK's pioneering eco-experience, their plan is to provide you with information, education, ideas and an inspiration for looking after the environment.

Since opening in 1992, Nature's World has evolved into a thriving visitor attraction, training centre and educational facility for the whole of the local and wider community. As part of on-going re-development plan, they have spent over £500,000 over the past 6 months further enhancing the site and adding lots of new exhibits and features for everyone to enjoy. These include new informative signage, family trails, solar powered talking posts, educational play parks, a giant bank-side slide, an interactive sustainability challenge, 2020 future world, the race to recycle and much much more!

With on-site tearooms serving both hot and cold food & drink, ample free car parking and so much to see and do why not come and experience the beauty of Nature's World for yourself.

Naturewatch

Info:  Is a non-profit animal welfare campaigning organisation. Their aims are to promote the prevention of cruelty to animals and to conduct and support the publication of information concerning animals in furtherance of their welfare. They work strictly within the democratic system and condemn all illegal activity, and believe that an evolutionary approach is better than a revolutionary one.

Their main campaigns are on animal experiments (in particular those which cause brain damage to primates), badger baiting, and live transport across Europe. Their charitable wing, the Naturewatch Foundation, is involved in pioneering work in Eastern Europe, particularly in Lithuania and Ukraine. They also promote World Animal Day.

OneClimate

Homepage   Deep Links:  Experiences   Questions   Groups   About   Contact

Info:  Is an initiative of OneWorld UK. They are a not-for-profit organisation and their mission is ‘to leverage media innovatively for a fair and sustainable world’. Clearly, they cannot have a fair and sustainable world without tackling climate change.

We could go farther and say that climate change is providing humankind with one final and convincing opportunity: a wake-up call to persuade us, as nothing ever has before, that we must act together to bring about a fair and sustainable world.

The OneWorld Network has 13 centres around the world, of which OneWorld UK is one. It is governed by the trustees of the OneWorld International Foundation, a registered charity (no.1095287).

passion for the planet

Info:  Was set up by experienced radio professionals Chantal Cooke and Kenny Stevens, with the goal of introducing an innovative format to the expanding DAB Digital Radio market. The result is passion. Entertaining and informative, passion plays your favourite songs plus great new tunes from world music artists, and a broad range of interviews and features focused on your health and environment - issues that affect our lives every day.

Prevent Climate Change

Info:  Was formed to offer a unique reference point on actions to slow down climate change. This site reveals the practical steps you can take as an employer or a consumer to help slow down the effect of climate change. Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject. Our features and articles are written by professional journalists and experts -- who have a particular interest, or a background in this area.

RSPCA

Info:  Its vision is to work for a world in which all humans respect and live in harmony with all other members of the animal kingdom. The RSPCA as a charity will, by all lawful means, prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of animals.
