C Level |
|
|
Info: They developed a new approach with
responsibility for CO2 emissions at its core, the
concept of being Carbon Balanced as well as the concept
of a Carbon Footprint, and found the right partners to
deliver these ideas as services to clients. They do not
simply aim to offset CO2 emissions, but help initiate
new projects that raise awareness, pushing the
boundaries of 'low carbon living' and inspiring a 'can
do' change in culture. |

Climate Change
Wales |
|
|
Info: Green house gasses insulate our
atmosphere from the coldness of space, without them the
temperature on earth would be -15 degrees. The green
house effect was discovered by Fourier in 1827.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2 ) is the main green house gas.
Records show that global temperature is closely linked
to the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. Over the past
100 years the amount of carbon dioxide has increased,
and the global temperature is also increasing. Reducing
the amount of insulating gasses we put into the
atmosphere is key to reducing the impacts of climate
change. The climate will still warm over the next 100
years, but it will stop the warming spiraling out of
control. |
|
Climate Concern UK |
|
|
Info: Campaign to increase public
understanding of climate change issues, answer
scepticism and encourage energy savings. |
|
ClimateStewards |
|
|
Info: Has been set up to give you the
opportunity to minimize the effect of your carbon
dioxide (CO2) emissions on climate change. Our aim is to
help you understand the problem and what you can do –
and then enable you to do it! We want you to stop
emitting CO2 whenever possible. In areas where it’s not
practical for you to stop, we want to help you swap
those emissions for carbon offsets. When you have done
all you can personally, we want to encourage you to
inspire others to do the same. |
|
Climate Research Unit |
|
|
Info: Is widely recognised as one of the
world's leading institutions concerned with the study of
natural and anthropogenic climate change. Consisting of
a staff of around thirty research scientists and
students, the Unit has developed a number of the data
sets widely used in climate research, including the
global temperature record used to monitor the state of
the climate system, as well as statistical software
packages and climate models.
The aim of the Climatic
Research Unit is to improve scientific understanding in
three areas: past climate history and its impact on
humanity; the course and causes of climate change during
the present century; prospects for the future. |
