Kiskadee |
|
|
Info: Born in England with very little
eyesight, Kiskadee, a British Trinidadian, grew up in an
area where she was part of a tiny West Indian minority.
Her father was one of the first steel drum makers in
Trinidad and her mother came to England from Guyana to
study violin at the Royal Academy of Music. Gifted with
unusual musical abilities (including perfect pitch),
Kiskadee learned piano and started singing at the age of
two. After gaining an Honours Degree in French and
English and then working for the BBC for several years,
Kiskadee entered the music industry full time as a
singer / songwriter, pan player, producer and arranger.
Ethical Music is our
other “baby”. We bring together talented artists from
around the globe who the world would otherwise overlook.
Musicians, songwriters, singers, poets, calligraphers,
photographers, sculptors -- all feel passionate about
their art and see it as their calling in life. There are
incredible artists in this world who get overlooked
simply because they either don’t have the right look,
don’t speak or sing in the right language, have a
disability, are too old, who’s art doesn’t fit the
marketing criteria of the industry etc. If they are
genuinely talented, they deserve to earn a decent living
with their art. This is what we are about. In short, we
are not a charity. As wonderful as charity is, we
believe giving people a chance to earn an honest living
is more important to the artists, their dignity and all
of us who enjoy their art. That’s Ethical Music. |

The Art of
Music |
|
|
Info: We specialise in excellent-quality music
engraving and type setting, both of music and of text.
Since 1992, using the best tools available, we have
produced a range of publications that have been
acclaimed not only by their commissioning writers but
also in the national press. We have typeset thousands of
pages (or several kilogrammes weight) using Score and
InDesign.
Based in Dunblane,
Scotland, The Art of Music was founded by Alistair
Warwick in 1992 in order to provide high-quality music
and text typesetting. This soon extended to include
practical and reflective skills training for musicians,
especially those who work in worship and other music of
the Church. |
