Allan Lake Sculpted Furniture |
|
|
Info: I create sculpted wood furniture; my
endeavour is one with a dual purpose. I work to bring
harmony to the play between function and aesthetics. I
create high quality working items of sculpted furniture
that also act as visually stimulating, tactile works of
art. A variety of British hardwoods sourced from
sustained woodlands are my chosen media, often
complemented by the use of other materials such as
stained glass, metals and various coloured resins. |

Info: Designing furniture using reclaimed wood
that has been In architectual structures brings a
different element to my work. The wood has usually been
weatherd for many years by the sea, rivers or elements.
Depending on what kind of environment the wood has been
exposed to, it will give the wood its own individual
characteristics. I then turn this salvaged wood into
fine unique pieces of functional art. |
