Highvalue Timber Frame

Info:  Design, manufacture, supply and erect timber frame buildings and energy efficient eco-houses. We also offer dedicated roof truss design and manufacture together with posi-strut metal web joists – either as a stand alone service for developers or as part of a complete timber frame structural package. We specialise in individual designs using a combination of traditional and hi-tech materials. Our joinery division can supply everything you need to complete the basic structural shell of a building.

We support sustainable forestation and all our wood comes from suppliers with positive reforestation policies. As well as international suppliers, we also make extensive use of homegrown timber from sustainable forests.

Our softwoods are mainly European Redwood and Whitewood sourced from Sweden and the Baltic States. Oak and Douglas Fir are the most popular choices for principle frames – the latter proving particularly popular for its look, durability and relative cost effectiveness. For external cladding, we generally use Cedar and Larch, but are happy to source any kind of timber our clients would like.

Hockerton Housing Project

Koru Architects

Info:  Are a Brighton-based practice specialising in environment-friendly or ‘green’ architecture. They undertake residential and small commercial projects including new-build, refurbishments and extensions. Since the practice was established in 2000, they have completed a number of high quality additions to existing homes, each project being original and individual to their location and client requirements. In 2001 they were awarded an RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) prize for their competition design for a new sustainable junior school in Canterbury.

LEDA

Since leaving university she has been working freelance from home in Surbiton, Surrey, and promoting her main passion of sustainable architecture and living, which allows her to follow her other passions of painting and gardening! Since early 2003, Liz has been working mainly with Derek Plummer Chartered Architect; together they have worked on many projects offering a full architectural service specialising in conservation and restoration of historic / period properties, sustainable design, domestic and community buildings.
