Five of us live in a very small ex-council house with a very small garden on the edge of farmland. We grow some of our food on an allotment a couple of miles away. We keep chickens and bees. We try to be "green", whatever that means.

No longer innocent. Trying to stay sane in a once beautiful world which is being turned very ugly as people are sent mad by their own greed.

This is just a place to store all my head thoughts in the unfortunate event that my mind may, one day, choose to erase the lot. Hopefully my thoughts and opinions will be diverse and varied but I will probably bang on, a lot, about green issues and the wretchedness of humanity. Otherwise. t'will be my take on topical news issues, politics, mother earth, global ethics, my personal ethics, religion, sprituality, poetry, love, frustration, joy, my children, being sad, being happy and interacting with other like-minded people.

We are sisters Nikki Algar and Tracy Stokes and we started EcoStreet.

Back in 2002, we sat down one evening to discuss how we could start an online project to spread the word about living green and to make it easier for people to find green products and services. Within a few weeks EcoStreet started out as a directory of UK websites. We wanted to help promote websites that were offering green products or services. EcoStreet has grown over the past 5 years into a thriving global community of readers who contribute to the EcoStreet blog, directory and forum, and of course, a common cause - wanting to live more sustainable lives.

Born in May 2007, Environmental Graffiti is an eclectic mix of the most bizarre, funny and interesting environmental news on the planet. We search the vast realms of the internet on behalf of all environmentalists who don’t take themselves too seriously and compile it into a daily blog. Surf and enjoy!

I have a mania for recording things. Only a fraction of what I write ends up public. I’d tell you how many times I went to the toilet each day if I didn’t have at least some ethos of self-censorship. Well, that’s not quite true but I do know I can be extremely verbose and I will completely understand if political readers prefer to pass over the stuff about dinners and the vagaries of London transport and systems-oriented readers feel daunted by the blow-by-blow accounts of my weekends, Matt’s sagacity &tc. It’s fine. I’m not a service, after all. Of course, though, I’d be delighted if you read my blog - and I hope you will.

All other green campaigns become futile without tackling the economic system and its ideological defenders. Economics is only dismal because there are not enough of us making it our own. Read on and become empowered.
